Avalanche SC has a zero tolerance policy in respect to sideline and coaching behavior. Its motto is WHEN IN DOUBT LET THEM PLAY! Avalanche Player Release Policy
After a player commits to a team and completes registration with Avalanche Soccer Club, the player is considered registered to the Club. Each player is bound to the Club for the entire seasonal year which runs from August 1-November 15 and March 1-June 1. Each family is obligated to full financial commitment.
Avalanche SC will not consider a request for a release from the program during the soccer year until that player has paid his/her entire financial obligations to the Club and team for the soccer year. If approved, all fees for the entire seasonal year must be paid in full before the release can be authorized. Players receiving financial assistance will not be released during the seasonal year unless they pay the full expenses associated with the year, including any portion of granted assistance.

To check if the field is closed or open, please call the Hotline at 303.234.5928
Note: The hotline is ONLY updated if fields are CLOSED. It is not updated daily, only when there is a closure.
DO NOT USE THE FIELDS IF THEY ARE CLOSED! You may not think the field is that wet, but it is closed for a reason.
The City of Wheat Ridge determines if fields are unplayable at approximately 2:00 pm on weekdays and 7am on Saturdays
We work with the City to then either relocate to a turf field or cancel games.
Games may be required to be played on non-traditional days, including Sundays, weekdays and doubleheaders.
Games will not be cancelled for cold weather, hot weather or travel distance.
Avalache SC does monitor and follow the US Soccer heat and cold weather guidelines along with Air Quality Guidelines provided by Childrens Hospital Colorado. The policies can be found here:

Avalanche SC follows Colorado Soccer Disciplinary Policy linked below.
Avalanche SC follows Colorado Soccer Social Media policy linked below.
Avalanche develops its referees through a bottom-up approach, providing instruction and experience at the developmental level. With experience and growth, referees are promoted to the level games where their skills and talents are closely matched to the skills level of each game.
It is the policy of Avalanche SC to assign USSF certified referees for each competitive and academy home game.
Avalanche also offers training at the club level for parents and coaches to learn the rules of soccer and to enable them to center referee and line games.
Referees must be 13 years old to be eligible for any refereeing duties or any training.
Competitive teams are to encourage players, parents, and siblings to participate in the USSF referee program. By refereeing, each competitive member can give back to the Avalanche Soccer Program.
Each team coach is the directly responsible person for the safety of the group of players they have care over and must act accordingly in adverse weather conditions to protect every player from harm.
Should there be any lightning within a 10 mile radius of a training/game facility, all activities are suspended. Coaches will instruct all players to seek shelter in covered facilities or in cars as appropriate and available. Activities may resume once 30 minutes have passed from the final lightning strike within the 10 mile radius.
Always use common sense when it comes to weather risk. Though the technology solutions available to all coaches are very good tools, they are not 100% foolproof. If you see lightning and/or hear thunder, and your weather app does not match what you are observing, again, err on the side of caution and seek shelter.
This policy is primarily written to address lighting, as that is the most prevalent safety risk that occurs in Colorado. However, if extreme wind, hail, tornadoes, blizzards, or any other weather event that may endanger players occurs, you must clear fields to assure the safety of all players.
Avalanche Soccer Club encourages our members to take a 24-hour “cool down” period before addressing a conflict that may have occurred. Complaints and concerns regarding your soccer experience should be directed according to the following guidelines.
Complaints regarding Avalanche Soccer Club coaches, assistant coaches, and/or managers should be addressed with the head coach. If resolution is not satisfactory, document your concerns in writing to the attention of the appropriate program director.
Concerns regarding your child’s team should be addressed directly with your child’s coach or assistant coach at a proper time and place. If resolution is not satisfactory, document your concerns in writing to the attention of the appropriate program director.
If, after following the appropriate measures as listed above, and resolution is not satisfactory, document your concerns in writing to the attention of the Avalanche Soccer Club Executive Director.
