SIDELINE BEHAVIOR

Creating a positive, respectful environment on the soccer field starts with everyone—parents, coaches, and players. The way we behave on the sidelines can have a powerful impact on the development, confidence, and enjoyment of young athletes.

Below you’ll find helpful guidelines for parents, coaches, and players that outline how to conduct ourselves before, during, and after games. Together, we can build a safe, supportive, and sportsmanlike atmosphere for everyone involved.

PARENTS

How to encourage your player, show respect for the game, and interact appropriately with referees, coaches, and opposing teams.

COACHES

Leadership strategies, communication tips, and how to set the tone for respectful competition and player development.

PLAYERS

Emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, effort, and how to represent your team with pride—on and off the field.

FINANCIAL AID

Avalanche Soccer Club believes that everyone should have a fair chance to play the game of soccer. A limited amount of financial aid is available each season. Financial aid ranges in amount depending on available resources and applicants. Amount of financial aid ranges from 25%-50% of registration fees and is provided on a financial needs' basis. Avalanche financial aid is available for club registration fees only.

To apply for Avalanche financial aid for club fees, follow these steps in the PlayMetrics application. The club will notify you via PlayMetrics if your player has received financial aid for the season and will apply the aid in PlayMetrics for you when you register.

For financial aid for uniforms and tournaments, the following organizations offer assistance-

  • Nick J. LoRusso “I Know a Guy” Memorial Scholarship Fund is a Colorado based, family run, nonprofit corporation which provides funding to Colorado soccer players of all ages and development. The fund was created in 2013 following the passing of Nick J. LoRusso, who was an avid supporter of Colorado soccer. ANY individual can apply on behalf of ANY player in need.
  • Scholarship deadlines are February 15th and August 15th of each year. Award will be funded 30 days thereafter.

Avalanche Funding Disclaimer

Financial aid funds are not guaranteed each season or year. Award amounts may change based on available resources and overall demand. Submitting an application does not ensure funding will be granted. Additionally, any player that receives aid and leaves the club before their season is over must pay back the scholarship amount they have received up to that point.
